The heroes, villains, and monsters of the IIIrd Legion

Fulgrim

Fulgrim

Primarch of the IIIrd Legion Traitor — Daemon Prince of Slaanesh

Once the most beautiful and talented of the Emperor's sons, Fulgrim was a visionary who sought perfection in all things. His discovery of the Laeran blade during the Laer campaign doomed him, as a daemon of Slaanesh slowly corrupted his mind. He slew his brother Ferrus Manus at Istvaan V and eventually transformed into a serpentine daemon prince. Now he rules from the Eye of Terror, a monument to ambition twisted into damnation.

Lord Commander Eidolon

First Captain of the IIIrd Legion Traitor

Eidolon was Fulgrim's right hand, a brilliant commander whose arrogance matched his Primarch's. He was instrumental in the corruption of the Legion, eagerly embracing the gifts of Slaanesh. His voice, augmented by warp sorcery, can shatter armor and minds alike. He led the Emperor's Children through much of the Heresy and remains one of the most powerful champions of the IIIrd.

Lucius the Eternal

Lucius the Eternal

Sworn Champion of Slaanesh Traitor

Lucius was once the finest swordsman of the IIIrd Legion, his skill with a blade unmatched. His pride was his undoing — he craved recognition above all else, and Slaanesh answered his prayers. Cursed with a terrible immortality, Lucius cannot die: anyone who slays him finds their body transforming into a new vessel for his soul. He has been reborn countless times, each death adding another screaming face to his armor.

Fabius Bile

Fabius Bile

Chief Apothecary of the IIIrd Legion Traitor (Renegade)

Fabius Bile was the Legion's chief apothecary, a genius of genetic science who sought to perfect the Space Marine form. He created the New Men — improved humans free of the flaws he saw in the Emperor's design. Unlike his brothers, Bile does not worship Slaanesh, viewing the Chaos Gods as merely powerful xenos entities. He continues his experiments to this day, a coldly rational monster in a sea of madness.

Saul Tarvitz

Captain of the IIIrd Legion Loyalist (Fallen)

One of the few heroes of the IIIrd Legion, Saul Tarvitz remained loyal to the Emperor when his brothers turned traitor. He discovered Horus's betrayal and raced to warn the Imperium, fighting to the death on Istvaan III. He organized the loyalist resistance against the traitor Legions and died ensuring that at least some of the Emperor's forces could escape the massacre. His sacrifice is remembered as one of the few honorable acts of the IIIrd.

Julius Kaesoron

Captain of the IIIrd Legion Traitor

Kaesoron was a close friend of Saul Tarvitz before the Heresy tore them apart. He embraced the corruption of the IIIrd fully, becoming a fearsome champion of Slaanesh. He led assaults during the Siege of Terra, his sword arm strengthened by the Dark Prince's favor. He represents the tragedy of the IIIrd — once a brother, turned into a monster.

Rylanor

Ancient of Rites, Dreadnought Loyalist (Martyred)

Rylanor was one of the oldest warriors of the IIIrd Legion, interred within a Dreadnought after grievous wounds. He remained loyal to the Emperor and refused Fulgrim's corruption. In a final act of defiance, he attempted to destroy the daemon Primarch with a virus bomb, nearly succeeding before Fulgrim struck him down. His last words to his fallen Primarch — "You are not my father" — echo as a testament to the few who resisted the fall.

Vespasian

Chief Librarian of the IIIrd Legion Traitor

Vespasian was the master of the Librarius and a powerful psyker. He was among the first to sense the coming darkness, but instead of resisting, he embraced it. His psychic powers, augmented by Slaanesh, allowed him to manipulate the minds of entire armies. He was instrumental in spreading corruption through the Legion, using his powers to break the wills of those who resisted Fulgrim's new path.
